Defining Family Law
“Family law” is a term describing a general area of the law. There is no single definition, and the various subdivisions of this area can touch every aspect of a family from determining which parent will be awarded custody to issues involving visitation schedules, division of debts and assets, tax and investment consequences. In some circumstances, even your right to possess a firearm can be involved. How well you and your attorney are prepared can, and usually does, determine your level of success.
Preparing for trial, hoping for resolution
As your counsel, it will be our goal to help get the best possible result with the least stress and expense possible. We are always prepared to go to trial, but often are able to help our clients resolve disputes through mediation and negotiation, helping them preserve vitally important emotional and financial resources.
